Calf rearing performance starts at the teat

The first weeks of a calf's life shape future growth and performance. Alongside nutrition, teat design can influence feeding behaviour, milk intake and calf development.

Designed for natural feeding success

Proudly 100% made in New Zealand, Thriver Calf Teats are designed to replicate the natural feeding experience between calf and cow, encouraging a secure latch and steady suckling rhythm. The soft yet strong rubber compound is suitable across all calf stages, reducing the need to change teat type as calves grow.

A vanilla scent assists with initial teat acceptance, attracting calves to latch and helping reduce training time while improving feeding efficiency.

Controlled milk flow for calf health

Thriver Calf Teats feature a one-way valve system designed to help regulate milk flow and sudden surges. This supports a more consistent feeding experience for young calves and helps maintain a feeding rate that closely reflects natural suckling behaviour.

The internal teat geometry improves leak resistance and promotes natural feeding behaviour, which in turn encourages saliva production and more effective digestion.

On-farm testing has shown flow performance comparable with leading calf teat options used across New Zealand farm systems, helping support a balanced intake rate during feeding and reduce the risk of overfeeding.

Built-in hygiene protection

Calf rearing systems rely heavily on consistent hygiene management to reduce disease pressure in young stock.

Thriver Calf Teats are manufactured using an antibacterial rubber compound tested to ISO 22196 standards, proven to reduce up to 99.9% of bacterial presence on the teat surface. This supports cleaner feeding conditions and reduces the risk of cross-contamination, particularly in multi-calf or group feeding systems.

Fits your rearing system

Thriver Calf Teats are available in both Screw-In and Pull-Through formats to suit a range of feeding systems:

  • Screw-In: compatible with all leading female threaded feeders
  • Pull-Through: suited to 20–21.5mm diameter fittings

Both options are designed for straightforward installation and compatibility with common rearing equipment used on New Zealand farms.

Thriver Calf Teats are available ahead of the spring calving season through your local Farm Source store. Speak to your local Farm Source store to find out more or place an order today.
