At this time of year, farmers have enough going on without having to worry about financial reporting and data entry. To make life easier when it comes to entering financial milk supply data, the Co-op has partnered with New Zealand-owned financial software company, Farm Focus.
A software solution for farmers
Farm Focus was established in 1981 by three Wairarapa farmers who wanted a better way to make informed decisions about their farm business. They developed a tool to help with forecasting and financial planning. Fast forward 40 years and the product is now used by 10,000 customers across the dairy, beef and sheep sectors. Farm Focus now has a reputation as one of the most user-friendly farm financial management cloud-based software solutions in the world.
“While our product has evolved and our name has changed over the years (from Computer Concepts, Cash Manager, and ultimately Farm Focus), our feet are still firmly on the ground here in Masterton and we remain proud supporters of farmers and the wider rural community,” says the Farm Focus team.
Offer for Co-op farmers
Under the partnership with Fonterra, financial milk supply data can now be seamlessly synced to Farm Focus.
To enable the option, log-in to Farm Focus and go to the Connectors page where you will find a new option called ‘Fonterra Statement Feed’.
Fill out, print, sign and email the authority form to onlinefeeds@farmfocus.co.nz. Farmers have the option to choose whether the Farm Focus invoice will display each coding line separately or combined. Once the sign-up request has been authorised, the Fonterra statement will appear each month as invoices in ‘Needs Action’.
Saving time and improving accuracy
More than 3000 Co-op farmers currently use Farm Focus and this new service will save them more time and improve accuracy of coding and financial reporting.
“Farmers are always looking for more efficient ways of working. By connecting Fonterra milk supply statements to Farm Focus, farmers now have one source of truth for their financial reporting. We’ve already received feedback from farmers that it has made coding and reporting clearer,” says Miles Bentley from the Co-op.
