New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards

  • People & Community

The end of the 2024 New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards programme was also a time of farewells, as we bid goodbye and thank you to three National Committee members who have moved to other leadership roles in the industry.

Amber Carpenter, Carlos de los Santos and Heather McKay have dedicated time and energy in their roles and we are grateful for all they have contributed to developing the programme over the past few years.

We welcomed our new NatCom members to the programme in June. Nia Wyn Jones, Murray Perks and Andrew Macky are all past NZDIA winners who are looking forward to the next stage of their NZDIA journey, with Raewyn Hills the NatCom chair for the year.

Together the team have analysed feedback, reviewed the judging criteria and appraisals and are developing the programme accordingly. The NatCom remain focused on what is important for the sustainability of dairy farming and delivering the opportunity for all involved to learn, connect and grow.

The 2024 season culminated in the National Gala Dinner in Queenstown, which was a fitting location to celebrate all our volunteers’ hard work and thank them for their contributions. Giving back like this is a massive part of the programmes longevity.

As we begin preparations for the 2025 programme, the annual ‘passing of the baton’ happened and we welcomed our new Regional Managers at the annual RM meeting in Wellington at the beginning of July.

We look forward to welcoming them and their regional committee members at our annual conference at the end of September.
