This page is to provide farmers with a list of semen sires they can use in the Fonterra and Silver Fern Farms beef programme, and how to access them.

The 2026 list of performance beef sires is here. Sires can be ordered directly from LIC, CRV or GENEZ. Fonterra calves from these sires will be positioned as the preferred cattle for the Silver Fern Farms dairy beef programme.
Beef super sires
- These sires have been carefully selected for their performance on both the dairy and beef farm.
- They are easy calving and produce a colour-marked calf.
- Produce calves that grow rapidly and finish well for the beef farmer.
GENEZ customers
GENEZ offer 5 Hereford and 2 Charolais bulls for the programme. Their semen is available to all farmers and can be delivered to your usual semen company or technician service.
