The model now uses more detailed farm and industry data, such as breed-specific herd live weights and actual cow weights where available. This makes the emissions calculation more reflective of what's happening on your farm.
Not every input or activity has farm-specific data available. Where detailed information can't be collected consistently, industry averages are used to provide a fair and practical estimate while maintaining consistency across farms.
When the model is updated, previous seasons are recalculated using the latest methodology. This ensures year-on-year comparisons reflect real changes in farm performance, rather than differences caused by a change in the model itself.
